Can’t you go to both? There’s usually other ways to visit.

Hi

Glad to hear you're considering MMU! It's always difficult when you're torn between two universities you really like. We would recommend visiting both MMU and Sheffield Hallam, as we find that visiting the University really helps students decide whether or not it is right for them. We'd also recommend doing as much research as you can on both unis and courses before deciding

Here are some benefits of studying Psychology here at MMU:

You’ll have the option to choose our four year Study Abroad route, completing your third academic year at one of our partner institutions in Europe, America, or Australia.

This degree programme is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), which means that providing you graduate from your course here at Manchester Met with a minimum of a 2:2 honours classification and you pass your dissertation research project, you will be eligible for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) from the BPS.

You’ll have access to our specialist facilities for psychology demonstration and practice, which includes 12 experimental testing laboratories and six psychology laboratories.

The Department of Psychology is home to the Applied Psychology and Well-Being Research Group.

Let us know if you need help with anything else!

Hey @ccyxxx

We have an open evening next Thursday if you're interested? Here's the link to book on - https://www4.shu.ac.uk/ad/open-evening/

One of our student ambassadors studies Criminology and Psychology and can give you an insight into the course if you like? @hallamstudents

Are you looking to start next Sept 2019?

Thanks
Bridget

Hi @Ccyxxx ,
I also considered both Manchester Met and Sheffield Hallam to do my course. I do Criminology and Psychology rather than just Psychology, however most of my friends do Psychology as it is a really popular course. I decided on Sheffield Hallam and I am so glad I did. You have a wide range of modules you can study, including Forensic Psychology, Animal Psychology and Clinical Psychology. We have a dedicated department for Psychology, and you have the opportunity to do a placement semester, either in the UK or abroad. The course is also BPS accredited meaning you will be able to go into the Psychology profession after graduation. We also have a popular Psychology society run by students with the opportunity to meet other people studying your course. I would recommend booking onto our open day as mentioned by Bridget earlier on this thread.
Let me know if you have any other questions about studying Psychology at Sheffield Hallam. What year are you looking at applying for?
Thanks,
Emma
