Can 6-5 in combined science get you onto A Level Chemistry

Will a grade 6-5 or 5-6 get you onto A Level Sciences

At my school, a grade 6 was required to enrol for A-level sciences. However, many of my friends achieved grade 8/9 in GCSE Chemistry and find the A-level very challenging. So if your understanding at GCSE was not up there, I wouldn't personally do it but if you put in lots of work I'm sure it's achievable.

No it’s not because most colleges want 7-6 or 7-7

'most'. Not all.

I don't do A-Level Chemistry, but my Sixth Form wanted around a 5-6 to get into the subject. It often depends on if your teachers think you are suitable for the subject - if you are persistent in your work and revision, and you are active in lessons, you are more likely to be accepted than those who sit at the back and do nothing.

Keep going at your revision for GCSEs and you'll probably get great grades anyway - I got a 5-5 after around two months of revision. You'll do fine!

Ask your teachers because the entry requirements for each sixth form will vary. I know mine demanded a 6-6 at the bare minimum, but this might not be the same for your sixth form.
