Ok so I’ve looked at MANY courses and Ive concluded I’ll be applying for

Hertfordshire uni
Arts uni Bournemouth
De Montfort Uni
Teeside Uni
Portsmouth Uni

I’m mainly stuck between Herts, Bournemouth and De Monfort. They all have nice student work (mainly Hertfordshire and Bournemouth) however De Monfort seems like it has very good facilities. I still have yet to look around the unis (because I live a trek away), but I was wondering what is more important? Facilities or the student showreel?

I'd lean towards facilities, but the showreel is definitely important too. Speak to the course team as well. I study animation at degree level and do both 2D and 3D, though I'm specialising in 3D. I would definitely recommend learning both because they are both important when it comes to applying for jobs, and they both link in to one another in some ways so the skills you learn will be transferrable and will also help you to deepen your understanding of things like virtual camera and cinematography

Hi moa.tm

It's lovely to see you're applying for Animation at Herts. I think both are important but I think where you will be studying will make a big difference to your university experience, so it's important you are happy.

You can find out more about the Creative Arts facilities we have here: https://www.herts.ac.uk/study/school...rts-facilities

There's also a virtual tour if you can't make it to campus: https://www.herts.ac.uk/study/open-days/virtual-tour

If you are able to visit, we have an open afternoon next Wednesday and campus tours every other week - https://www.herts.ac.uk/study/open-days

If you have any questions about the course, just let me know.

Thanks,
Heather
