Northumbria University Accomodation help

Just curious when is the deadline for northumbria university to apply for accomodation? I know the early the better but haven't gone round to applying for it. If anyone knows, it would be a gr8 help! the northumbria site doesnt provide deadline date which makes me believe anyone can apply during august time as well but chances it would private accomodation which i don't want.

Thank you!

Hi, I'm not sure when the deadline is, but its probs best to do it soon. I've still got to reply to ucas about my firm and insurance choice, but Northumbria is my top choice
do you know anything about accommodation, like which ones are better etc? I'm gonna be based at Coach Lane but applying to stay on/by the city campus because the social life will probs be better.

It depends what sort of things you want from where you stay, and also how much you are willing to spend.

I heard quay point is great accommodation wise, you get a rather large ensuite too, but the security guards and such are rubbish. Victoria hall is also a good choice, its also an ensuite, but you get monthly room inspections, and they are REALLY picky too. slightest crumb and they moan lol

Glenamara is supposed to be the funnest, its alot cheaper monthly then the two mentioned above, but theres kind of alot more going on seen as there are normally 8 people sharing a flat. The bedrooms are also bigger than normal with its own hand basin, but you have to share 2 toilets and 2 showers though. And with students, you normally wake up desperate for the toilet and find one of the bathrooms flooded, and the other toilet is broken with sick all over the sink, which is why im opting for victoria hall :P

Have fun choosing! Oh and to the orriginal question, i really dont know, i do know that you should get busy now because ive known people to end up being given their 4th and 5th choices because they sent their application forms in late. Do it as soon as possible! x
I'm in Quay point, anyway you realise the person before you bumped a year old thread, and then you bumped it again since march....
I just got an offer for quay point but have heard some awful things about it, is it really as bad as it sounds?
Im soooo nervous! i reallllyyy want ensuite, havn't been offered anything yet and some of my friends have! i just keep thinking shouldnt ensuite have been al given out by now? im really really really nervous about getting it, i can honestly say i can't live without my own bathroom :-(

my friends been offered quay point it looks really nice, what awful things?!

When did you apply? I applied on the 27th March. I was away travelling but my mum rang to comfirm my place (I found out about mine in June due to having an unconditional), and they told her that anyone who applied after the end of march missed out on en suite. Not sure if they were just saying that or what.

Also according to your sig, you're not 18 yet, doesn't that make you too young to go to Uni this year?

dunno about flats. im not accepting it until i know for sure i can't get ensuite.. i wont be able to i know. if i dont like it that much im sure someone will drop out within the first couple of weeks whos in ensuite!
well i applied before her, helped her do it a couple days later and then she recieved a letter through the post a week later. i think i even rang up or something so i had to apply again even though i did do it right first time, so i ended up applying 2 week after her therefore got **** ACCOMODATION! well annoyed! x x

I've got a quick question. Do you find out your flat and room number once you have accepted their offer ( which i got today through the post, I have to return documents and pay a deposit ) Once I've done this will I find out?

Yes and pay the deposit, then you login to my northumbria on the website and it tells you. The accomodation only tracker says where you are but not the flat, only my northumbria says both.

Hi, I have just noticed your post about the accomodation query and was wondering if now that it is a yar later which accomodation you decided on as I to am going to be based in coach lane campus but I want to live in halls in the City but I also want to choose accomodation which will not be too far away from coach lane. I would be grateful if you could provide any feedback on your experience of the accom and whcih one would be nearest to coach lane?

Thanks
Hi,

There is accommodation based in Coach Lane Campus and at the City Campus, they are about 20 minutes away from each other however the University provides a free bus service which operates usually every half an hour so you can go back and forwards between the two campuses.

I am currently at Northumbria University studying Primary Education but live in the City using the free bus.

Usually in the city there are a wider range of choice for accommdation, with the majority en suite and built in the last 3 years. Accommodation at Coach Lane is all shared bathrooms with other students but is only a 2 mins walk from the Campus.

If you need any help feel free to ask.

Hi Daniel
Thanks for your info.

I wondered which accom. you chose and why? Are you happy with your choice? Which would you consider if you were me, based on distance from Coach Lane, quality and noise? Also, I'm anxious to secure my first choice so I'm hoping to apply in the next few days - should this be early enough? Can you remember when you applied and if you got your first choice?

I'm really sorry for all the qs but any help would be great!

Thanks again!
