Advantageous Application Date?

The courses I'm applying to at several different universities have multiple deadlines. Some have one in November and one in January, while others don't have deadlines until the summer.
Does anyone know if there's a better deadline to apply for? For example, are there typically fewer applications for the first deadline, meaning it's more advantageous to apply in November than January? Or vice versa?
I'd assume for courses with deadlines in the summer, the earlier the better, but I'm really wondering about the courses with two deadlines. I've already submitted the applications that I could with a November deadline.
