So as we know the mobile companies mentioned are having issues with data. My monthly allowance just got renewed today (the first day of issues) and I'm just wondering how long will it take for it all to be fixed and if it does take longer that a week or so, will they be issuing refunds?? I am with giffgaff and payed for unlimited everything.

What on earth are you talking about? OP paid for a service that was not delivered, they have every right to seek financial compensation and the law is on their side.

    Sure.

They won't get it though, guaranteed.

Why not? It it has definitely effected a large number of people AND businesses. It will have materially damaged the profits businesses have been able to make, there will be the appetite from enough people to get compensation here and the law is very much behind them.

They can probably afford good enough lawyers that make it financially impossible for any single person to take them on.

They'll a- argue it wasn't their fault that caused the network to go down (why else have they been so quick to blame a 3rd party?), and b- require material proof that the network being down has cost people money before reimbursing them.

They'll know every loophole going and will exploit every single one.

The average customer will not see any compensation, though there may be a token goodwill gesture offered.

I was also without data for the whole day. Thankfully my everyday life means I can live without be glued to a phone so the idea of asking for compensation is laughable.

Have fun going through the terms and conditions, there’s bound to be a get-out clause for them somewhere.

It’s hardly worth chasing O2, anyone who needs a connection should pick up a pay as you go sim from another network for the day.
