At the end of the day it has to be your decision. Look at detailed versions of the course and see exactly what each includes, this could influence which you do as one of the course may cover stuff you don't want to look at or stuff you really want to cover.
Also think about the place, where would you be most comfortable going to uni.
At the end of the day, YOU have to make an informed decision

(ps. nice course choice  , I'm doing graphic and communication design at Leeds in Sept hopefully)

Good luck.

Wow thats mad, I am trying to decide on the exact same thing! Same courses and everything! Kingston looks great, especially for its close ties with some other design colleges, but st Martins has such a prestigious reputations it practically the oxford of graphic design. My advice would be to go look around both, see which campus, facilities, living etc you like more, as well as the course content, obviously!

Hey thanks for your reply! I really appreciate it.
well, it's still a hard decision. I didn't think I would have a chance at any of them as I created my portfolio by myself (beginners luck?). I know both Universities are having good reputation and I think I could push myself to succeed in any of them.
I've done a lot of research on those courses. the things that make the decision so difficult are:

-central saint martins (graphic design BA): Good rep, large amount of students in a class, no studios, central london (only 20 minutes by tube from me)

Kingston (Graphic communication FDA)- Good rep, half the amount of student than that in central saint martins, good course but it's a foundation degree though still option for the third year on the BA, very intensive BUT far away one hour by train.

mmmmm....do you have any more comments about that? sometimes I wish I got one option...

hey, update: I read an article in the Times about a week ago that was all about how staff at Kingston were getting their students to lie on surveys, and not report on how much they disliked the uni and the teaching! So it's looking like CSM will be a better bet!

Ah great! Hope you get on well there. I've got another year of A Levels yet but i really do think i'll go to CSM. I take it you're doing the art and design foundation first?

yeah that was a good choice. I actually landed straight away to the BA course and skipped the foundation year but I guess it's because of my work experience. good luck to you and maybe one day i'll see ya' around at csm.

At the very least by going to Central Saint Martins, if you ever decide to work abroad (most graphic design/advertising agencies have multiple offices internationally) they'll actually recognize where you went.
