Hey @hollyf13

Glad you are coming to Hallam to study! Let us know if you have any questions.

One of our student ambassadors studies Criminology and Psychology, so she could give you some ideas about what the course is like if you want? @hallamstudents

Thanks
Bridget

Trust me and me can’t wait !!!
Hi @hollyf13 ,
I am currently third year at Sheffield Hallam studying Criminology and Psychology. I also stayed in The Forge in first year and would highly recommend it. I met all of my friends at The Forge who I am still friends with now. The course itself is really interesting and informative, with opportunities to study abroad and also do a placement semester. Collegiate campus, where you will be studying, is fairly small but very pretty, meaning it is easier to not get lost! Do you have any questions about the course or uni life in general that I can answer?
Thanks,
Emma

Hiya, not really any questions I’m just excited about going. How many hours/days are you roughly in uni? And also, where do you get to study abroad?
Thank you

Hiya,
That's good, uni is an exciting time. A lot of uni is about independent study, so it may feel like you're not in university that much a week, however you are expected to do lots of work and reading in your own time. I think in first year I was in 3/4 days a week, and I am still in 3 days a week, just with less hours. Now I am in third year I have about 7/8 hours a week of contact teaching in the form of lectures and seminars. In terms of studying abroad, I'm not sure if this changes every year but last year you could study in Australia and Canada for Criminology and Psychology. It is just one semester, and the other you would do your modules as normal. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks,
Emma
I’m going for forge aswell
