It wasn't bad grammar it was just a confusing question. You ask if they take Christmas temps but then say your friend works as a Christmas temp. Your question sounded like you were asking if they hire Christmas temps, not if they then keep them on permanently.
Anyway, it'll depend on the store and if they have vacancies.
