If they deliver to your area, it's no problem. At my halls pretty much everybody gets Tesco to deliver because there isn't a decent supermarket that's easy to reach from here.

It also depends on whether there's access onto the campus, some places there is, some places there isn't.
Well check that they deliver to your area first and if so you should be ok.

However, theres usually a minimum spend requirement + however much they charge for delievery.
Asda for example require a minimum of £25 spend and then its about £3/£4 for delivery so you will be looking at almost £30 a week minimum if sainsburys have a similar policy which is alot. If I spend £25 a week ive more than likely done a particually extravagant shop and bought pretty much all branded products/ ran out of absolutley everything that week.

You could do online shops with housemates to get over this issue if anyone else was interested.
As everyone else said, If they deliver to your area then it's OK. But also take note of the minimum spend required and delivery charges as they can all add up at the end of the day. In my opinion, getting home delivery is only good if you like to do a big monthly shop or if you and your friends band together to do an online shop to split the costs.

You can usually google for free delivery codes too!
I used to get shopping delivered to my halls. It just depends on whether a supermarket will deliver there or not.

£30 a week would be alot for food shopping just for yourself wouldnt it? So like someone earlier suggested...see if your flat mates or anyone would want to do a joint shop with you..that way you can both split the cost and take advantage of the buy one get one free offers aswell!

I haven't tried it, but when I looked on Asda's website, it said it wouldn't deliver to my campus :frown:

we get tescos too mainly cos they don't do the minimum spend thing.

i usually use it to get lotsa of heavy stuff for like a month or more.

eg: 10liters of apple juice, sparkling water, other soft drinks and then on top of that anything that i fancy on offer plus whatever i need to cook healthily

so, i reckon it's good, if they deliver to your area, and if you can do like a monthly shopping-thing lol

Yes, I do this all the time! Here, it anything too big for our postboxes just gets left at reception, and then you get an email, and then you go and collect it from reception.

OP - have you checked where your nearest supermarket is? Sainsburys, in particular, have a tendency to put large supermarkets in student areas - we have one two minutes away from here, and there's one between uni and halls in Bristol.

My apologies, although it wasn't me who bumped it (hence why I didn't notice it), and the bumper did come in with a new question!

Yes, you can. At my uni we have a post room that all letters and parcels go to, and we have to pick them up, but some deliver straight to each hall
