Nursing or midwifery? With small children watch

    Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has done this before. I’m in 2 minds about whether or not to do the nursing or midwifery. Ultimately my goal is to become a midwife. But I’m thinking about doing the nursing apprenticeship first so that I don’t lose any income and doing the midwifery top up after. Or do I just go all in and do the midwifery full time? I have 2 young children who I will need to put into childcare regardless of what route I take. Unfortunately due to my husbands income I will not be entitled to any benefits if I’m not working, and will only receive what help I can get from being a student. If I do the apprenticeship then when I do the top up my children will be in school, but is it worth doing both or should I just do the midwifery when this is what I want to achieve?

    Thanks for reading. X
