    Hi,

I am having a lot of trouble deciding between two uni courses to compliment a degree in Information Technology. I can't decide between studying Geography (GIS and science) or Business (maybe marketing, HR, business information systems etc.). Which would pair best for a career in/with IT?

I have never studied business but thought it would be interesting.

Geography I am familiar with and have a passion for, yet I keep doubting myself if I should choose business instead.

Really appreciate any insight and advice.

    Thanks!

Business and IT is a great combination.

I did my undergraduate in Computing Science. My Postgraduate MSc was in Computing for Business. It made my life going into full time work significantly better. IT will always be complemented by business, as the two are very closely related. Geography and IT goes down a more niche route, although if that's your true interest, I wouldn't dismiss it.

    Hi blueforest

It may be easier to make a decision about your postgraduate by thinking about your career and where you would see yourself working once you are fully qualified. From there you can work backwards to ensure you are choosing the best option to help you in your career. If you need to get any ideas you could look at the job profiles on our website, in particular those in the Computing, technology and digital job family:
    https://nationalcareers.service.gov....gy-and-digital

You might also find it useful to look at where a degree in these subjects could lead by clicking on each subject on the Prospects "What can I do with my degree?" page:
    https://www.prospects.ac.uk/careers-...with-my-degree

Once you have decided on which career is right for you you can talk through which subject may be the best way forward for you with one of our experienced advisers by chatting online. This is a free impartial service which is available from 8am to 10pm from this website:
    https://nationalcareersservice.direc...ontact-us/home

I hope this helps and good luck with whichever option you choose!
    Rosy
