what’s the difference between depth study, historical investigation and breadth study

Hello, I’m studying for the IGCSE history exams. The paper 1 is based on the depth study of two historical periods so all is good but the the paper 2 is based on historical investigation and breadth study and here I’m a bit confused, what’s the difference between depth study, historical investigation and breadth study? I understand that the depth study is about understanding and knowing about some historical periods but what about the historical investigation and breadth study? What do they mean and what’s the difference?
