To OP: nationality doesn’t matter. However, NYU AD is more selective than Harvard, so you need some other options. Last year, Harvard accepted 4.6% of applicants. NYU AD accepted 4% and has previously been as low as 2.1%. So...

(1) It’s basically NYU’s honors college. NYU has no NY-based honors college, so that’s it.

(2) At it’s inception, it was designed to cover all need. That is, students who go to NYU AD may be able to attend for free, depending on their family’s economic status. When it first started, the way to get top students was to offer more money than any other top tier university — this still stands. That is, the financial aid is at least as generous as Havard — meaning $160,000/yr family income or less = full scholarship.
