Bangor Closing Chemistry Department?

If you are applying to Bangor University for Chemistry in 2019/20, make sure you have a good alternative as Bangor is looking to close its Chemistry Department. The University is in severe financial difficulties and has to save £5m this year alone with many lecturers at risk of redundancy:

Bangor Uni is now definitely closing chemistry. I visited Bangor last year and apparently they have already had one round of cuts and it seemed to me that the lecturers were already overworked. After another round of cuts I certainly won't be going there.
I also noticed that Bangor has no physics or maths department, and now that they are eliminating chemistry it seems that their standards are being lowered.
