They chose it with no idea of what it really entailed, with a healthy helping of misinformation thrown in. On the face of it the idea of a second referendum may seem silly, but this time around, we'd have a better sense of what we're voting about.

ability to make new trade deals with other countries

We have all of that right now except we choose not to spend the £350 million on the NHS. However, I will happily give up a blue passport for being able to be fast tracked into and out of Europe when on business / holiday.
