Help!!! i am in the process of applying to uni to study criminology and they have given me an essay to write to gain access to the course through an unqualified route.

The essay question: What does it mean to take a 'structural approach' to the analysis of serial killing?

with reference to a book written by David Wilson titled: A History of British Serial Killing

i have been picking apart the question again and again to try and understand what it is they are asking me to write about and i have come to so many conclusions that i have now confused myself.

on one hand i feel i cannot ask for a deeper explanation as this is my chance to prove myself on the other i have never, ever in my life written an essay and don't have the slightest clue.

I have now reached a point whereby i have 2 weeks left to write this and i cannot put it off any longer.

any help for interpreting the question would be greatly appreciated. thank you all in advance
