potential along a current carrying wire?

hi, this is probably a really stupid question but i really don't understand what the following specification (a level edexcel physics) is requiring us to know?

42. understand how the potential along a uniform current-carrying wire varies with
the distance along it

if anyone can help, it would be much appreciated!!

Well, varying the length of the wire affects the resistance according to the equation R=ρLAR = \dfrac{\rho L}{A}. So varying that varies the potential difference thanks to Ohm's law.
