It depends. I'm friends with a few of my old college teachers and meet up from time to time. There's one who's older than my dad but I've been to his house, met his girlfriend and have got drunk on a few occasions. It's probably different because I went to a college rather than a sixth form, and I also worked alongside him as a teacher after I left which changed the dynamic. It'll depend on the context but the younger you are, the less likely it is.

what if it's during school and that studentis in sixth form
Yes it is possible, but you have to be very aware of boundaries until you leave school, as in this day and age it doesn't take a huge amount to get teachers into trouble unfortunately.

I'm now friends with the teacher who took me for PSHE for three years between Y7-Y9.. because I'm dating her ex! It seems weird to me that when she was teaching me she was dating the man who I would eventually fall in love with, and all the while she was teaching me sex ed. Anyhow once I got over how weird it was, it was okay, and we're actually pretty good friends now. She's not a huge amount older than me as she was a very young teacher at the time.

what do i do to be very careful? do i not seem super friendly in class? coz the teacher never is super friendly to me in class or will speak to me in front of others unless we r alone
No. Teachers can't be friends with current students. It's really inappropriate.

Like, don't speak outside school, don't socialise, don't meet up, don't contact via social media. Just speak in school until you're no longer a student.

Also, don't confuse the slightest less formal relationship you might have with college staff with actual friendship. No offence but your teachers most likely don't think about you at all outside of lessons and they're probably just being friendly, not necessarily meaning "friends".

You can be friendly but not friends while you are still are a student. Most people don't become friends with their teachers (not saying it doesn't happen, because it does) but it will completely depend on the context, there is no right answer.
yeah. but why would you want to be?

imjust asking in case
I think it depends on the context really, the best thing would be to become friends after you finish school, then there is no irregularity surrounding it
After you've left, by all means, but not whilst you're still a student
My teacher said he was my friend. He said he was worried about me over the weekend because I looked sad.

yh, be friends but just don't have contact outside of school.
How about if you have left school and you still email your teacher? That means you're kinda like friends right? Especially if you were her favourite student and she was your favourite teacher.
