Imperial or Warwick (Engineering)..PLEASE HELP!

Ok, I was very set on Warwick (especially after not hearing from Imperial since OCTOBER). But in early April, i got an email from them saying they are offering me a place. (for Mech Engineering)

Now, i REALLY want a campus life...like rooms/class/sports/food/library all nearby, walking distance (Warwick is perfect). But I know the credentials of Imperial are much higher for engineering...(right?). (and is LONDON..Good and Bad..).

Also...I applied for General Engineering to Warwick, and love the idea of not being tied down, but Imperial don't have General, so i applied for Mechanical...

What to do people?
I need advice/opinions...anything will be appreciated!!

(also COSTS ARE MUCH CRAZIER FOR IMPERIAL!! I have British passport, but am classified as International because I haven't lived there for 3 years prior. So not only are tuition fees more, but obviously living in London is more.)

(oh, and I have family in North London - Harrow area (but am 100% staying in halls!) - just added plus for Imperial - my mum has insisted on the importance of family 'nearby')

Sorry for long story..but any opinions? Thanks!

IDK if this thread applies (due to the 5th May deadline) but.
Imperial is a much better university in terms of engineering - and many people would crave a mech eng offer from imperial =]
an engineering degree from Imperial will open so many doors for you when it comes to career prospects because, frankly - behind one or two US Universities it is, arguably, one of the best college for engineering.
If i were you id pick Imperial. You'd pay off the costs in no time (as that's the only negative aspect i see).

Go to Imperial! You'd increase the Kenyan population. In 2 years I've met all of 3 people from Kenya here!

On a more serious note...Imperial is a bit of a strange place. The workload is heavy but I think this is due to the fact that everyone around you has so much work on that you feel guilty if you don't do any work. At the end of the day the reputation of Imperial in terms of Engineering is much more widespread internationally than that of Warwick so if you want to work somewhere like in the States then Imperial may be the better bet. However I think you need to be happy about going to Imperial for you to put down the place as your first choice. It has a much different atmosphere to that of many other Universities and you need to be able to manage yourself to really get your workload sorted and also find time to enjoy yourself otherwise you will burn yourself out.

As for family in Harrow...it's far away enough for you to not have to visit frequently (parents live near Harrow so I just use the excuse that I can't be bothered to travel for an hour on the train each way to go see them every weekend hehe).
lol thanks.
are u happy at imperial? how is sports? Like i know about ethos gym...but how far does one have to travel for tennis..? :p:..sorry, but i love sports!

In the letter UCAS sent me, my deadline is 6th June..:s-smilie: ... i think because i got my last offer in mid-april, not end march like its supposed to be...
is that normal?

It's normal, my deadline is also on the 6th of June. I am also in a similar situation as you, deciding between Imperial and Southampton, but I am now convinced to go to Imperial. However, if mechanical doesnt interest you, you may not enjoy your years at Imperial.
Hi, Im going through the same thing now for my Masters and ironically the EXACT same predicament haha, any advice, what did you end up doing?
