Are you sexually active? Have you had a recent sexual health screen? If not maybe just get things checked out to make sure you don't have something like thrush/ bacterial infection.

What about using pantyliners?
I am quite sexually active at the minute yes.

And no I havent had a sexual screen. Maybe I do need to stock up more on pantyliners.
Get checked out then. You can even get kits that will tell you if you have bacterial vaginosis or thrush

Having a lot of sex can upset things. As can STIs if you've not been careful

I will have a look at the link thanks.

I was in a situation recently where I had sex without a condom, but I had nothing to wipe myself with at the time and semen got on my knickers quite a bit.
What goes up has to go somewhere. That's normal. Explore the irritation/infection side of things (especially if having sex without condoms)

Wear panty liners but don’t were them 24/7 as it’s unhealthy, I know it’s annoying but discharge is normal!

If your itchy or the discharge is yellow and has a bad odour it could be a yeast infection?

If so go to the GP and they will prescribe you oral medication.

Hope all goes well!

Thank you.

Gonna start wearing pantyliners more often to try and save my undies a bit.

I have never been itchy, or it hasnt been yellow really.

It always seems to be brown

No problem! And have you been using protection when having sex?

Do you feel any period symptoms?
Have used condoms a bit though recently went on to the pill.

I dont have any period symptoms yet though should be here in the next 4-5 days.

Ah okay,

And does it happen only when your about to have a period?

Brownish discharge may indicate pregnancy? Brown dishcharge before a period contains blood and comes around just when you period is due.

If you’ve been having regular cycles and safe sex I think it’s okay and everything’s normal.

It is happening regularly before and after a period and from time to time inbetween and is getting more noticeable.

So much so that one day recently my bf made a joking remark when I was removing my knickers that he thought I had poop on them.

Was a joke of course and he knows I get discharge though can be a bit embarassing as well as I am sure others find.

That’s perfectly normal then! It’s happening after because brown blood is old blood, so it’s just your vagina cleaning itself basically.

But if it bothers you that much maybe you can see a specialist? Although that will cost you a little bit. Or go to a GP and they may refer you to one for free?

He shouldn’t be making jokes about it, it’s okay.

Wouldnt say it bothers me rele, was just more curious than anything else.
Don't get too concerned. Some discharge is normal. In a healthy relationship I don't think it's a problem joking about it, better than your boyfriend being put off by it. Nothing to suggest any particular colour means you're pregnant.

Your GP can send you to see a specialist if nessasary, but I suspect things may be normal for you and the increased discharge may just represent you moving to unprotected sex and your vagina having more foreign semen to remove through it's normal cleaning processes. That said getting infection ruled out is wise. Increased sexual activity is a risk for STIs but also other infections like thrush and bacterial infections.

Nothing to worry about.

One thought - you've not moved to more 'sexy' underwear? Cotton is supposidly the most healthy material and things can breath

Discharge is quite common amongst us ladies.
I use pantyliners, saves my underwear quite a bit.
