What makes Cornwall think they deserve independence and more importantly, what makes them think they'd survive as a separate nation? Reminds me of the talks of California wanting to secede from the US after the 2016 Trump win.

Looking down the road I would say not.
When petrol and diesel cars are banned, (2030ish) unless there is an amazing increase in milage per charge in the electric cars that replace them, the Cornish and Scottish tourist industry is going to take a fair old kicking.

I'm surprised you say that given your stance on Brexit? What is the difference between a country and a county wanting self determination? At the end of the day, it is a group of people who identify by a geographic location wishing to determine their own future without outside interference. What is wrong with that?

Cornwall must work harder at promoting itself and its attractions. they hardly ever mention the wonderful Brown Willy which people can see without payment. Free Willy if you will.
