Because brexit is just the most silly thing for this country.

Stay in the EU ffs...

Slightly biased of course. The idea of putting customs declaration forms on every package I send is just a super hassle. (Mail order business).

All it ever meant is we are leaving the EU and will no longer be a member. No more and no less.

In what way has it been sabotaged? We are still leaving the EU.

Because the EUSSR CANNOT have us leaving peacfully and within a year or so be doing well, it is their intention to cripple us so that no other country feels the need to leave

Because Brexit affects everyone in the country, not just the people who voted for it. Democracy is about compromise, not getting a majority and sticking your fingers up at everything else. Anyway - you will be begging for a compromise if we end up with hard Brexit. Do you really want prices and interest rates to go up?

the people who voted for Brexit have a far lower median IQ than those who voted to Remain. instead of working harmoniously in shared prosperity with our natural EU allies, we shall be the Trotters of the Northern Hemisphere, ducking and diving under the shelter of a tatty umbrella of uncoordinated shady deals with dodgy countries.

enjoy

The fact that our government hasn't been able to deliver the empty promises of the Leave campaign is entirely the fault of the empty promises of the Leave campaign, not some covert attempt to derail proceedings. The EU are playing hardball as predicted and people are now realising we're not the superpower we needed to be in order to secure the idyllic divorce package they were conned into thinking we would get. The closest thing to sabotage was a group of one-percenters duping a hunk of the general public into thinking this would end well in the first place.

It isn't - just the Brexit many want is a fantasy.

If what you want from Brexit is to be completely outside EU control - tough, we're going to be under at least partial EU control until we find a way to physically move this island elsewhere. The EU is the continental hegemon and really nothing in Europe is fully outside their control.

Don't be daft. We know a lot more about the deal that we can get now, with opinion polls showing an understandable shift in opinion since the referendum. It would be undemocratic to not have a referendum now that we have so much detail (not that it ever was a question that most people could understand the consequences of).

You get to vote for a new government every few years - public opinion changes over time, as it has with Brexit. However, I'm fine if the UK want to lose even more of the Pound's value - international fees are expensive ..

My Grandparents didn't fight wars over red tape. Don't be so disrespectful.

Did you see Jeremy Hunt today saying that we will be the new Singapore, with extremely low taxes? And presumably extremely low public services to match.

Then there's Gavin Williamson reporting that he is planning new UK military bases in the Far East and the Caribbean after Brexit. Apparently we are to return to the 1930s. All that is left is to build a new Brittannia ship (Prince Andrew has demanded one at a cost of £250m so that he can go on tour with his many young 'girlfriends') and to send Liam Fox off on some sort of appeasement tour of Russia.

The basic issue is that no one could know what Brexit meant at the time of the referendum - it was a stupidly vague question. You don't get to define it.

Agreed. I think the word control is also rather emotive. We have never been "controlled" by the EU. We have however signed up to and contributed to the creation of rules and laws that span the whole EU. The idea that we are some puppet that dances to an EU drum has never existed despite what the tabloid press might have us think.

Usual Brexit *******s. Daddy, daddy... you promised we would do 50mph over the Brexit bridge. I know sweetheart, but the bridge is broken and it would be very dangerous. Whaaaaaaa! I fail to see how 2½ yrs of blood, sweat and tears attempting to safely honour the result can in any way be interpreted as a deliberate attempt to sabotage it it unless you are paranoid, 5 yrs old or just stupid.
