Al most a daily event and one which must have been a targeted attack one would have thought given the circumstances. Horrific for the other passengers .

This seems to ignore the fact that we have had a Tory government for nearly nine years and Surrey is a Tory area with a Tory council and a Tory PCC.
Unfortunately ....we know what the problem is . Violent crime has got steadily worse over the last 30 years and there is little that can now be done to stop it purely because it's apart of the violent culture that now exists in the capital . This situation will only get worse . Meanwhile , up here in the shires the peace and solitude rarely makes the head lines because the culture and cultural mix is profoundly different. Draw your own conclusions .
Okay.

Bigots will often ignore inconvenient facts.

Let's play guess the ethnicity of the attacker.

Police have described him as a black male in his 20s or 30s.

Even the part of London that borders Surrey are very much not Londonistan and doesn’t vote Labour so no it doesn’t work.

His 14 year old son was with him at the time he was attacked. That is extremely traumatising, his entire life he will remember this day and it will never be the same.

A teenage boy saw his dad being stabbed to death on a train. He’ll probably have nightmares for weeks, probably PTSD because of this.

Very sad that just eight hours ago they were both alive and probably looking forward to a day out in London or maybe to visit relatives somewhere and all of a sudden everything changes beyond your wildest nightmares.

What would have been your guess anyway? This happened in Surrey, on a train that a lot of City commuters take and the victim was a middle aged man so honestly I would have guessed the attacker was a middle aged white guy who got into an argument with him

"Detectives have described the suspect as a black man in his 20s to 30s, of slim build with a beard, about six feet tall, and dressed all in black with white trainers."

Wouldn’t have even been my second guess.

Good job you're not in law enforcement, then. There is no reason to think that they knew each other; violent crimes on trains are commonly robberies/bullying strangers.
How awful for so many people.
The poor person who was murdered, those he left behind and the other passengers who witnessed the attack.

So much horrifying thuggery and violent criminality permeating into so many spheres of society: public transport, the streets and online.
The BTP have a huge number of call outs, work thousands of investigations every single week and are terribly understaffed considering their huge caseloads.
Slashing police numbers + systematically handing out woefully inadequate sentences to violent & sexual offenders with a history of using illegal weapons in their crimes + early prison release of predatory repeat offenders = dire implications for public safety.

Lol the job of law enforcement isn’t to guess the ethnicity of an attacker, it’s to find out for sure before stating it. A policeman who goes around guessing the ethnicity of suspects is not someone who should be working in law enforcement.

Indeed, so when you guessed the ethnicity you ruled yourself out as a copper. Glad we agree.

Anyway, it was more the idea that the victim and perp are probably alike in age and ethnicity which ruled you out as a contender.

A black guy wearing a tracksuit in a posh village in Surrey of all places would surely stick out like sore thumb, there’s no way he would have stayed there for long if he wanted to avoid being caught.
