Hi everyone,

Since 2013 I decided that my goal is to enroll at Oxford university and study English Literature ( classics) . However , I’m now having second thoughts on applying because in my GCSES I achieved 1x Grade 9 ( full marks English Literature) 2x 7’s 3x 6s and 3x 5s . Whilst I know these are good results , I question based on the competitive nature of Oxbridge places whether or not this maybe my weak point.
As I was wondering , that even though my A level targets are 4x A* , is it likely that I’ll be asked for an interview in 2020?
Thank you

Getting an offer to Cambridge with your GCSE's would be more likely, since most successful Oxford applicants have a majority A*s (so 8s and 9s). I think Cambridge looks more at A level predictions.

But this is based off what I know from the 2019 entry and the biomed and medicine courses. If you want to find out more about your course specifically, maybe there are admissions statistics for your course.

Good luck.

Hiya! The average number of A* people who go to oxford get is usually 10/11! As previously mentioned, you are probably better off applying to Cambridge!
