Phonecall Rejection?

Just missed a call from HR, is it likely that it would be a rejection? the email i received says to call to find out the outcome of the interview and for feedback...hmm.

Surely most rejections are by email? :confused:

What firm/company?

ring back? i doubt theyd bother to ring to reject you though.

If it's PwC, it's possible you can get a rejection by phone call. Though, I wouldn't expect it at first interview stage. They usually reject you by email.

So if you had a first interview it could be that you have progressed to assessment day, but they just need to give you feedback cos your first interview wasn't amazing, so they wanna help you prepare for the final interview at the assessment day.

rejection usually comes via email - or doesn't come at all!

PwC phoned everyone from my AC, whether or not they'd been successful. For my first interviews, PwC and Deloitte both told me I was successful by email. Unless you know the company's policy, try not to read too much into it.

At PwC they also phoned to let me know the outcome of the first interview and assessment day. Anytime I've failed a first interview or assessment day at Deloitte and KPMG respectively they emailed me to let me know the outcome. Deloitte always seemed quite slow in responding but for the most part PwC and KPMG were in touch within a couple of days at most. I'm sure I read elsewhere on this forum that some people are even contacted by the partners at KPMG (who do the interviews) themselves the same day as their assessment centre if they've been successful.
