Anyone (international students) getting an offer without IELTS?

So basically, I got the conditional offer (materials MEng) and i am an international applicant.
However my offer doesn't say anything at all about IELTS!!!
I currently have a B in IGCSE English as a second language.
Is this enough?
Coz my head of sixth form suddenly came up to me and sed 'u need to do IELTS to get into Imperial'
Anyone having similar situation?

I got in without a language test, but English is my mother tongue, and I did IGCSE English Language and IGCSE English Literature. I would say it is a little strange for them not to have asked you for a test... If you want to be sure, email the admissions tutor.

My offer too, did not state anything about IELTS. In fact, I showed the offer letter to an Imperial College admission tutor and according to her, it means the tutors are satisfied with the level of my English. I guess the same goes for you as well.

I presume you had an interview. I didn't have one, so I didn't even think about this . GoinSideway, if you had an interview then it's not particularly surprising you didn't get asked to take a language test.

Ah yes, same here with me.
I applied to Northumbria University, and they dont need my IELTS test whasoever.
I have met the internatioal counsellor, or something. And yeah, he interviewed me couple of months ago, and he said my English is fine ( maybe because I was studying overseas too before), we dont speak English in my country. I am pleased to hear i dont need any test!

I think if you are fluent with English, you should just be confident with it
B should be enough. It depends also with the course that you are taking, let say it s design maybe the skill of language is not a proficiency.

No, I didn't have one. In Malaysia, interviews are only conducted for Medical and Oxbridge applicants.

Cool. Another 100 pounds saved.
Usually, if you have some kind of GCSE English C or above, then you dont need IELTS in order to get into UK unis~!

I got a B for GCSE English, hence non of my uni ask for IELTS~ =)

Nope, no IELTS requirement for me. Waste of bloody time and money if you ask me lol.

Do you think not having IELTS will affect our visa applications?

I can't imagine how it'd affect our visa applications in the first place...

same for me, no language tests/certificates. I'm an international applicant from slovakia but I'm doing IB so I presume that's why they were satisfied with my english...anyway, I guess english should be either your mother tongue OR your language of instruction for the past "x" years in order not to be required to do IELTS .. but I'm not sure, I just deduced it from the information given to me

LOL it seems like i m over worried.
The thing is my head of sixth form told me that, they might ask for a certificate when I m there (at the uni). Coz even though it's not in the offer, but IELTS is expected from all International applicants.

**** that

Hi there, attending GJH (assume you attend it , those private schools are ridiculously expensive) too... They definitely don't demand english test from the IB crow (that's point of IB btw.)... Unfortunately, I have to do the IELTS test and I had interview (so they probably weren't satisfied with my level, lol)... Or do they demand it from every non-UK EU national?
