I can't imagine how it'd affect our visa applications in the first place...

Well, IELTS is a proof of our English proficiency, not the only 'proof' but hopefully they will accept other qualifications like our English 1119.

Do you think not having IELTS will affect our visa applications?

Not at all. I applied for my visa before I took the IELTS or even intended to. No British institution asked me for it...it was/is more of American/Canadian requirement.

Just ride a Moose into Canada, wearing a Mounty hat, whilst drinking beer and holding a hockey stick, and say "eh" and "aboot" a lot. You'll never be asked to prove your nationality. Ever.

Lol.

Anyway, I like it here at Imperial. Mind, I wouldn't mind being in a colder climate at this point in time.

AND in in the United States all you have to do to prove your identity is name a couple of countries on a world map. If you get them all wrong you are 100% American.

Well, it helps if you're overweight and carry a gun, as well. You may also be asked to take an IQ test. If you score over 50, you're clearly a foreign terrorist scumbag.

Certainly my friend, I merely assumed that those prerequisites were too obvious to deserve reference.

No! It's a wonderful temperature right now! (Well, in the daytime, right now at 01.50 it's only 16°C according to my PC.)

Well.. GoinSideway.. it's true that by not doing IELTS you are saving some money. But isn't it worth the insurance that the uni can't reject you because of your IELTS? It will be a real pity if you were "expected" to have IELTS results ready for verification and you've failed to do that.
I suggest that "to be on the safe side" you should take it. It may be expensive, but if it costs you, your place at Imperial... that will be a real pain in the ***.

PS. My head of 6th form is also a bit weird... Is it just us, or is it a thing with head of 6th form...??
