I got 43% in my second year of uni which is weighted at 33% of my overall mark. Can I still get a 2:1 and if so what do I need to average with to do so? TIA.

Assuming that your first year didn't count at all, and that 60% is a 2:1 at your university, then you would need to average 68.37% or above in third year to get a 2:1 (if my calculations are correct).

[43 x 33] + [mark X 67] = 60 x 100
1419 + 67x required mark = 6000
67x required mark = 4581
required mark = 68.4
This depends on whether the uni needs 60+ or will allow 59.5

Because:
Let y = the grade you need to average at
0.43 x 0.33 = 0.1419
y x 0.67 = 0.6 - 0.1419
y x 0.67 = 0.4581
y = 0.6837 (to 4 s.f.)
Let y = the grade you need to average at
0.43 x 0.33 = 0.1419
y x 0.67 = 0.6 - 0.1419
y x 0.67 = 0.4581
y = 0.6837 (to 4 s.f.)

Good luck - that's working close to a first all year.
