So I recently had an exam and at the end everyone was rushing out. The building was a building I’m not familiar with so I had no idea where I was going. I followed a bunch of people down a corridor and then found a door to get outside so I used it. (I thought it was the same door I came in through.) Turns out it was a fire door and it set the alarm off. I didn’t know what to do so I just went home (not sure if that was good idea) and now I feel like a massive melt and I’m worried what’s going to happen. Anyone done something similar? If so what happened?

It's an honest mistake. Easily made.

    I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah i'd have just walked away as well, it's not like you can turn the alarm off or really provide any extra help with your presence ("Hey I opened this door and the alarm went off!" - 'Yes, we know'). It's not the sort of thing people are going to remember.

It probably happens more than you know. You're not the first and you won't be the last.
