How are you revising for it? I'm not sure whether to just make some feeble attempt to memorise all my essays, and learn bits of directed writing...

Found it.
http://www.kingussiehigh.highland.sch.uk/ModernLanguages.htm

Go to this site and then scroll down to the higher bit.
Click on "Higher French Revision Vocabulary" and open the file. It'll ask you for a password to view it. Its hsf56.
If you type this in then the file will open. Theres pages and pages of great vocab there!!!:biggrin:
Hope you find this useful  x x x x

Hey, I know this was posted five years ago and you have most likely left school but unfortunately the password has changed if you have any idea what it is now? Thank you.
Does anyone think that a native french student would be able to pass this Higher French exam or does it require you to know much more in terms of literature or french history etc..

I think a native would find it a breeze, as higher French only really tests you on your linguistic aptitude and doesn't incorporate literature or history, etc. However, for Advanced Higher you have to write about 2 pieces of literature which you study throughout the year as part of the course.

I know a girl who speaks French at home and is doing higher French. She is great at listening and speaking but she isn't as good at the reading or writing. She finds it difficult to spell words, however, I think this problem can be easily overcome and she probably doesn't put much work in.

Oh ok and I forgot to specify that I was referring to a GCSE student
Does anyone know what the cut off scores for an A/B/C in French have been the past few years?

Has anyone made any predictions on what the short essay might be on this year?

It's the usual 50% for a C, 60%, then 70% for an A.
