Just wondering if anyone else out there has to put up with rather noisy people! My first year at uni. was bloody atrocious - the girl in the room next to me had her bed literally right next to where mine was (against the wall), so I could basically hear everything. For some reason she was one of those people who assumes that someone banging on the wall and shouting "SHUT UP!" means "Please, carry on - and louder!" All very amusing until she decided to do it the night before one of my exams
Then in my student house last year, I could sometimes hear my housemate who used to live in the loft-room. Let's just say she was rather vocal sometimes It doesn't bother me (so long as it's not the night before a bloody exam!) but I just wonder whether people actually know that others can hear them, or if they just don't care?
Yup. Bed in room next to me is against the wall where I am. I can hear everything and it is also a fairly frequent occurrence. I also thought I heard a fly in my room for about a week and then realised that the intense 'buzzing' (read vibrating) was coming from a, somewhat more battery operated, creature next door. Hmm
Hrm, my girlfriends house is nextdoor to my college lecturer....so he really doesn't like me. Never had it done to me , though i'm sure in a few months it'll change (student accom)
the halls i stayed in, in first year were pretty poorly put together. the wall between my showerroom and my neighbours was a wobby plasticcy type material. she was quite a hefty girl and got herself a man halfway through first year. they had sex in the shower, and i often found myself being hit by the wall and hearing a her whaling when i was having a shower.

Is that the new name for having sex with fat chicks?
Yeah, doesn't really bother me. The rooms we're in now are very sound-proof side-to-side, but upstairs/downstairs they're not - and I'm top floor so would only hear people on my floor.
My old accommodation was ridiculous, could hear someone on other side of building.

God Frannnnn (sorry if I've missed one off there ) - that does sound a bit terrible... I think the thing that annoys me is when you know you can hear them, therefore they must be able to hear you screeching for them to shut up!
I mean, why, why, why do people suddenly decide they want to bump uglies at 3am? (unless they've just rolled in from a nightclub and are indescribably drunk/horny )
