Hello, I am an Italian student and I applied to study psychology in Scotland next year. I was wondering, is there a course/some material they give you in first year to learn how to write an essay properly? I am passionate about the subject, read a lot around it etc but I didn't have the chance to study it in high school and I have never had to write an essay on scientific subjects so I wouldn't know how to do it. Do you think this will be a massive problem?

If they’ve given you an offer they’re confident in your ability already, and I’m sure they’re will be many other students in the same situation - I know all unis are used to students taking the first term to get used to the new writing style

Chek out my article on how to write a lab report for first year psychology students: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/uni...for-psychology

But as above, you will get some help with this when you start from your uni
