School doesn't matter.
It is possible for them to get in-I don't see why not

When I was homeschooling my grandson, several home schooled children went to Oxbridge. Home schooling gets a bad press. Some of it is deserved and some isn’t. It is possible. Anything is possible.

There some home schooled students studying at Oxbridge, especially in this forum (a few do Maths at Cambridge, but forgot their username, but usually appear in the STEP threads).

As more than 99% of children go to a school (private or state), they will cover 99% of those gaining entrance to oxbridge. The remaining 1% (potentially even less) are so few that they probably just aren't widely reported

The number of children being home educated in the UK has risen by over 40% in the last 3 years. The exact numbers are unknown as many children are not registered for school when they reach compulsory school age so those figures aren’t available.

It's simply because very few apply.

The colleges certainly welcome applicants. Have a look at this from King's College, Cambridge
http://www.kings.cam.ac.uk/study/und...-educated.html

And this from Oxford

The only home-schooled people I've ever met I met at an Oxford open day.

They were, er, quite strange :o:
