Interview for first laboratory job after graduating with a degree in chemistryWatch
The job involves performing organic analysis using chromatographic analytical techniques (it didn't say specific experience in this area is required). I assume one thing they'll do is test my knowledge on these techniques though. The job advert did say I should have proven experience working in a quality controlled environment, which I don't really have, but they still gave me an interview so maybe it isn't that important. A degree isn't necessary, so hopefully having one should go in my favour.
The only other things that the job advert said was I should have the ability to read and understand health and safety instructions, analytical methods and technical instructions. I should also have experience following written instructions and have excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach.
Does anyone know what I should expect in the interview? I've only had competency based interviews before so I have no idea if this will follow a similar format. I'm obviously going to brush up on my knowledge of chromatographic analysis, but I don't know if they'll quiz me on general chemistry. Any advice would be appreciated,
