Why education system is flawed

For and against
Depends what it's purpose is.

If it is supposed to work for everyone then probably not since there's a system whereby nobody wants to teach in underfunded schools in poor areas, and everyone wants to send their children to "academically good" schools which are typically in more affluent areas.

Everything is centred around attainment. Usually at age 16. Now ask a pile of 20 year olds how important their GCSEs have been to their future, then ask a 30 year old. The answer is the same: it provides access to level 3 courses and that's more or less it.

The system is based on the general principle that in order for education to be effective it ought to be constantly measured. I'm not sure this is the case.
