advanced Higher chemistry project

i need to make an aqueous solution of hexaaquachromium nitrate for my advanced higher chemistry project. i am investigating transition metal d-d splitting energies to confirm the spectrochemical series. i need help in finding a way to make this solution. the report i was working from does not tell me how to make this. it has the formula (Cr(H2O)6)(NO3)3. anyone got any ideas.

Just add chromium(III) carbonate to dilute nitric acid until no more dissolves and there is no further effervescence. Filter off the excess carbonate.
