They aren't always lol. But I do get suspicious about people who militantly go on about a particular trait or behaviour they have. I know people who are verging on alcoholism who will tell you over and over again that they don't drink that much. If someone goes on and on about how 'nice' they are then yeah, I will probably start to think that there's something weird going on. Same goes for the millions of TSR threads about 'nice guys' being ignored.

I think you need to begin looking for "good or decent or neutral" guys to date, not "nice" guys.
The genuine nice guys don't need to proclaim it all the time, in fact they get called it more than anything. It's the self-proclaimed "nice guys" that tend to be your classic red-pillers and incels.
People who have to claim they are, aren’t, it’s their way of manipulation to get you to warm up to them before they show their real side, and by then you’re in too deep, these types can’t hold an act for long, be cautious because they mostly always tend to turn to violence when their true side is exposed and obviously not appreciated by anyone who is sane.
