EPQ title help - absolutely stressing

Okay so, I primarily had the idea of doing my EPQ based on the role of religion in changing the roles of the monarchy post the middle ages (in Britain). Nonetheless I'm struggling for resources and am uncertain how to make this into the best possible title. I'm also beginning to doubt it and think of English related EPQ titles such as feminism/conservatism in Shakespeare but I'm just completely stuck if I'm honest.
Hi @Miaatkinson,

As long as you have found some resources, regardless of relevance, you can always expand the scope of your title but keep it in the same area - for instance, instead of restricting it to views on the monarchy, you could expand it to the impact religion had on legislation or even society as whole. In longer dissertations a literature review usually analyses how much information surrounding the dissertation is already out there, so you could do a similar thing and mention that the resources don't allow for an entire essay solely on the monarchy if the word count allows it.

I would tend to keep completely changing the subject as a last resort, short of giving up altogether (but since you've made it this far I wouldn't recommend that either!). Unless you're a bona fide expert on the subject matter, doing so is essentially starting from zero, having to collect the research and complete the work - at least by increasing the scope you have an idea of at least one part of the report.

Hope that helps!

I was just thinking of doing “To what extent did the religious settlement of 1559 build a unified and prosperous Britain under Elizabeth I?” - however as you mentioned broadening my title, perhaps just how religious conflicts influenced legislation then?

It may be best to start like that at this stage - that gives you the option of picking just a few examples, or putting in as many as you can. You can always specialise and change your title later on if you think you can get to the word limit on just one example!
