Confused by how my university calculates the degree classification?
Hello all,
I study at Aberystwyth University. However, I don't fully understand how the university calculates the overall degree classification grade between the second and third year. Here is a screenshot of their explanation:

I understand that the overall grade is split between 50% for the second year and the third year is the other 50%, however, what I don't understand is the 'best 80 level 3 credits' etc...
Since I'm taking 120 credits per year, does that mean that the 80 credits with the highest markings count and the others can be discarded?
