Hi,

I'm just wondering about facial piercings in relation to the nursing courses uniform. I want to get some facial piercings however if they are not a possibility then I won't be able to. The same goes for body tattoos. Just wondering about what different universities think.

Most trusts set out their own policies but from what I’ve read they’re pretty similar

Only jewellery acceptable is a plain wedding band and one pair of small stud ear rings

Tattoo wise... if it’s visible then it can’t be deemed offensive

Hope this helps

At my interview I asked about this, they said most placements will not allow facial piercings, however, I guess you could ask if you could put clear ones in so they’re not visable or if you have something like your septum, you could just flip it up.

As for tattoos, i think they should be fine as long as they aren’t offensive or anything like that. Piercings not being allowed are for health and safety so tattoos should be okay
