I feel as if I've given up on finding decent friends Watch

I came into this school year (since August) wanting to actually make friends after a very unhappy 5 year friendship finished.

I've always been different and a little socially awkward, but despite trying to be funnier and more talkative, it's still not enough and no actual friendships have developed.

I'm beginning to give up as it seems clear that I'm not friend material. The only friendship opportunities have came online, but if I'm being brutally honest, I don't really want online friends. I want real life ones.

What should I do now? I never socialise out of school and want to start doing it rather than only being around family.

Just be friendly to everyone. Consider getting involved in after school stuff. Dont worry too much and get on with studies and liking yourself. Making friends can happen over time or it may not. Either way just deal with it and make sure you like yourself and your studies are good.

If you cant make friends at school, then take in some out of school hobbies.

I've done most of the exams, and whilst I do focus on my studies, I need a social life as well.

I haven't got much real hobbies.
