I want to do an accounting and finance degree but I’m not sure which a levels to do to get me there.
In reality pretty much any A levels would be ok. To consider:
- A level results matter a lot in accounts recruitment - although the importance is reducing. You should look to do subjects where you can get high grades. Also err towards traditional academic type subjects. If you love history and geography they would be great choices, as would chemistry and biology.
- Maths can be advantageous - but absolutely not essential. No other subject gives a particular benefit.
- To stress - you don;t need to take accounting A level, nor economics. Some people suggest them - they are not people who work or recruit in the profession.

Pretty poor advice with no reasoning - Economics, business and accounting together is an awfully narrow selection of subjects, which will be picked upon by the top unis
Id say take subjects which you enjoy/find interesting but are also solid.
Maths for example is a strong subject when applying for accounting and finance + any other academic subjects
Economics is recognised as a strong subject for accounting and finance too
Any combination of strong subjects looks good, an accounting or business A level is absolutely fine, but having both is probably not advised depending on where you want to go; accounting and business are seen as softer subjects
In no way do you need any of accounting, business or economics, but one may give you a foundation.
