Understandable to be unhappy about pay but ramming a Travelodge is a bit extreme https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/10...er-watch-video

On the surface it seems an extreme reaction, maybe there are some circumstances we are not told about (i.e. Guy may have had to rent to pay or something, still crazy tbh)

He now gets himself a criminal record and liability to pay for the damages. Brainless.

I assumed he did the work he was trashing? Otherwise that's bad.

Generally if you try and stiff a workman out of his fee he'll wreck whatever he just built for you.

So now he doesn’t have the money he thinks he’s owed and he’ll have to pay for the damage he caused, what a bright spark

Contractors earn loads of money. 600 was probably a third of what he earns a week. Waiting 3 weeks or so for subcontractors to be paid is pretty standard.

That said he may have had contra charges against him which is Why it may be unpaid.

Should withhold their wages, what are they going to do about it, eh?

Wanted paying and now will lose his wage and more to the cost of repairs.

Turns out the guy had mental health problems, knew he needed help but was unable to access servcies.

An all too common story.

Yeah, he's not the victim here.

Obviously, if you see someone drive a digger into a Travelodge and wreck the lobby, that person has some issues of some kind. That doesn't make the NHS responsible for the damage.

I dunno about that, he might be.

If he's been doing his bit for society in holding down work and paying whatever NI/Tax contributions and is' then denied access to health services when he knows he needs them......that sounds pretty victimy, doesn't excuse actions but can make an argument that he's been failed.

There still seems a bit of uncertainly over whether he WAS paid or not, but IMO if you muck about with your staffs wages that's a case of 'On your own head be it'
