I've been looking at the statistics for second year exams and the grades seem very low with the average across all courses being 51% and most results clustered around that. Is this strange or do people just get 100% in coursework to compensate. I'm doing an engineering degree at a rusell group uni I don't want to say much more.
But then most people should be graduating with 2:2s. Why is that not the case?
For your degree classification, year 3 marks are more heavily weighted than second year at most (if not all?) uni's. I'd even go so far as to say most people don't try as hard in year two, scrape a 2:1 and then really focus on Y3 to get a first.
