Getting a job for the money?

Poll

Is getting into a job primarily for the money a good enough reason?

Whenever someone asks a question about how much a certain job earns or what job will make them rich, you'll no doubt see some people choosing to instead offer their opinion that "nobody should go into a job just for the money". Whilst working in a charity shop selling second-hand Top Trumps might be rewarding enough for some, many others would argue you should seek to get the most amount of money possible for your time. So, have your say - is getting into a job, with your main motivation being money, really a bad thing?

On top of that, do you think money can buy you happiness? Why?

Money can be one of the factors that lead to happiness.
Being financially stable means you don't have to worry about that bill you forgot to pay or if you can afford this piece of clothing.
Wanting to be motivated due to money is not a bad thing, anyone who says that is lying to you.
Having employment where money is the main motivation for doing the job is nothing unusual.
This can depend on the specifics of what the job involves- legality and occasionally ethical concerns or attitudes on social stigma (sex industry/ very unpleasant connections to the point that being tainted by association can become a consideration).

Money can't buy happiness or health, it can only buy opportunities.
People choose which opportunities to take advantage of and how they handle both life's challenges and opportunities.

There is no real answer to this.

The best job is one that does both and if you can’t get that then most people work for the money alone in a job they can stand doing.

Very few work for peanuts in their sole job just because it’s a job they love doing
