Hey so I was thinking of applying to the oxford UNIQ summer school this year for law and just wanted to know if anyone had applied before?
If so what grades did you apply with and what sort of things did you include in your personal statement?
Many thanks in advance

Hey! I did Chemistry at UNIQ last year, so my personal statement advice wouldn't be ideal for law, but in general I mentioned the things I did outside of class that demonstrated my interest in the subject area. For instance, open days, workshops and a book I was reading.

I briefly wrote about my experience of UNIQ here https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/uni...you-should-too

I really would recommend everyone to apply if they are thinking about it!

Urgent!!!
For UNIQ, for the statement, it says ‘ if the subject is very similar to your first option, you may wish to continue your text from above’
As I am applying for Biomedicine and Biochemistry, which are very similar, does that mean I could just write one 1500 character statement and split it over the two boxes??
Thanks

I also applied for the law course a few days ago!! I found the character limit immensely hard to work with considering I either had to sacrifice my explanation of relevant things I’ve done, or many of the things themselves. In the end I ended up essentially linking my two statements together - my second choice was History: Race and Protest and my initial interest in law goes hand-in-hand with my interest for human rights - but (hopefully!) in a way that they work as two separate statements too.

Good luck with your application

And yeah I found the character count really hard too and felt like I was cutting out a lot of the things that I had done/achieved. Also my other option was really different (economics) so I couldn’t really link the two
Good luck to you too

It doesn't matter if the dates for your two courses clash because if you are accepted you only get one course offer - if that makes sense?
