Investment Banking with Politics degree?

So, I am currently taking a Politics degree at Anglia Ruskin but i am more interested in the whole investment banking and corporate finance world. I have read online that investment banks to tend to hire Politics students too. I am thinking of getting my masters at LSE in Finance, to try to combine both degrees to make me a bit more desirable to banks.
Anyone in the IB industry or any former politics students that have made it to IB can help me out? Should I stick it out on my current course or will it just make it impossible to get in to IB?
