Adjusting to uni after a gap year

Hi, so, I'm currently on a gap year (No travelling sadly, just working) and I'm getting worried about starting uni in September. I'm going to do Ancient History and Archaeology, however, I didn't do ancient history for Alevel and so my knowledge is pretty poor. Can anyone recommend any methods of re-adjusting to studying, essay writing, etc? I feel like my brain is going to mush but I don't know where to start!

Hey! I'm a gap year student on my second term at Durham doing Arch, and I can tell you the course you will end up on will not stress you as much as youre expecting. Because of the concentration on social aspects in first year, I think the hardest thing for me was actually starting essays again. Personally I dont think you'll need any expert experience, many people who apply for these subjects have never touched them before in their lives, and so the majority of modules arent specialized but rather an overview of a massive timeline, more for you to get comfortable with and help you be more specialized in your second year. I would only recoomend picking up some books you may find interesting, just to kind of start getting back into the groove of working, but dont force yourself to work too hard, its an easy thing to intergrate back into.
