Apprenticeship in Software Development

Hi ya!

So i'm 16 and currently in 6th form. Right now, I am hating it. The 6th form is not willing to cooperate with me on my subjects.
I had taken:
- Computer Science BTEC
- ICT BTEC
- Business BTEC

For ICT and Computer Science, they are great! I have a great teacher and I am doing well in the courses. Except Business is dragging me down, I have requested to become a part time student and get a part time job somewhere so I can focus myself on getting my Computer Science and ICT grades and drop Business, but they just won't allow it.
Due to this I am having to keep up with the Business Coursework which is badly affecting my performance in my other subjects.

We have a friend high up in a company that does apprenticeships in software development, do you think it's worth dropping out of 6th form to pursue an apprenticeship in Software Development?
